Graphite Packing Ring Set
The sealing rings in high density Graphite are made by pressing tape of expanded graphite.
The tapes are wound in a spiral within a suitable mold and pressed to obtain the required degree of density (1.4-1.7 g / cm³), this manufacturing process ensures an high elasticity constant, no further adjustment are required.
This type of gasket is used for the sealing of pumps and valves; thanks to the high stability over time of its mechanical characteristics, by its ability not to suffer thermal shock can be used with excellent results in use with special fluids such as steam, diathermic oils, strong acids with the exception of nitric and sulfuric acids at high concentrations.
